Fifteen Steps Workshop, a.k.a. FSW Coffee, is situated in a former office space on the ground floor of a mixed-use build- ing in Taipei’s Xinyi District. Located in between the com- mercial district and Xiangshan Park (popular for its hiking trails and green spaces, situated at the bottom of Xiangshan, Elephant Mountain), FSW Coffee is in a prime position to captivate a wide range of passersby. Businesspeople, nearby residents, casual hikers, and customers alike approach in different moods and paces.
Breadway Bakery’s bright, playful design and color palette transform a former dental office into a bustling and vibrant bakery café in the heart of Odessa, Ukraine. Independent designers Artem Trigubchak and Lera Brumina paired up to create an inviting and memorable space. Working together on technical aspects, Brumina focused on concept and color while Trigubchak devoted his attention to the realization of the interior. September is known across Vietnam for their unique and creatively designed coffee shops. You can find the bright and playful café “The Wind Blows,” a space designed to look like a bird’s nest. The architects be- hind this project, Ben Decor and Red5Studio, have created a space that is both familiar and characteristic of September while also incorporating a new concept.
NMA Café is a sub-brand concept for a popular Taiwanese coffee chain, designed to attract younger customers with a simplified coffee concept, making it accessible and easy to understand. The designer, Lung-Has Chiang, has eight years of experience in the coffee industry, observing market trends and consumer preferences. He developed NMA Café to make drinking coffee a more intuitive and friendly experience, using fun and cute illustrations and graphics.
Lera Brumina chose soft coral, peach, bright pink, royal blue, and gray to accentuate the concrete floors of Breadway Bakery, a café featured in Designing Coffee by Lani Kingston.
Koffee Mameya Kakeru is a true coffee experience, one that feels closer to dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant than sipping on a latte at your local neighborhood café. This reservation-only coffee bar offers coffee, coffee cocktails, and coffee-tasting menus in a converted warehouse in the middle of Tokyo’s self-proclaimed coffee town, Kiyosumi-Shirakawa. Wellington-founded brand Coffee Supreme opened in 1993, and today is one of New Zealand’s largest independent roasters with outlets across New Zealand, Australia, and Japan. Much of this international growth had taken place since their last rebrand, so owners Chris Dillon and Maggie Wells felt that they weren’t conveying their full expertise and reliability, nor the hand-crafted attention to detail and love of coffee that is at the core of everything they do.
In Fifteen Steps Workshops, a semi-open pocket space offers a standing bar in the main area of the café, inviting customers to step in and enjoy a quick drink and be on their way. A uniquely Australian coffee company at heart, Will&Co began with “three mates who set out to create the perfect blend to accompany an early morning surf.” Founded in world-famous Bondi Beach, this beloved local roastery HQ is located in a refurbished beachside building, and functions as a showroom, training venue, and working café, inspired by young entrepreneurship and street art, and defined by a simple coastal palette. DOT Coffee Station is a unique and eclectic café specializing in high-quality coffee, with interior design that aims to manifest the feeling of modern city life. The café has a transparent facade, with sliding glass doors replacing a traditional entrance to let the energy of the city seep through.
