Forlorn Photographs from the Life on the Road
03/2016 visual culture
There is a sense of longing in the work of photographer Zhang Jia Wu. From either on, in, or around busses, he photographed his fellow passengers over the past few years. Some are lost deep in thought; others are engrossed in a conversation, a nap, or even a kiss. Beautifully composed with a skillful use of color, Zhang’s photographs are emotive and expressive in a refreshingly candid way.
