The Oak Monolith Offers a Cozy Winter Retreat in Upstate New York
In the depths of winter, some seek solace in the perpetual sun of solariums. Others, like photographer Jason Koxvold, find it in a wintery retreat. With the help of Studio Padron, Koxvold and a team of creatives built Hemmelig Rom by hand in the woods of upstate New York. The one-room cabin’s name translates to “Secret Room” in Norwegian, and its secret is clear: behind the cold, oak-paneled exterior is a surprisingly cozy, 200-square-meter room with a cast-iron stove and an extensive library that wraps around all four walls.
